Engineering to Transform the Education of Analysis, Measurement, and Science in a Team-Based Targeted Mathematics-Science Partnership

EngrTEAMS was designed to increase the learning of science concepts for 4th through 8th grade students, as well as mathematical concepts related to data analysis and measurement, by using an engineering design-based approach to teacher professional development and curriculum development. The ultimate goal of the project when it ended in spring 2018 was to produce several high-quality, standards-based engineering curriculum units for grades 4-8 that will be available for widespread use.

EngrTEAMS was a five-year, $8 million National Science Foundation award made to a partnership involving the University of Minnesota and Purdue University. School partners were Saint Paul Public Schools; the North Saint Paul- Maplewood-Oakdale School District; South Washington County Schools; Minneapolis Public Schools; and the Northeast Metro Intermediate School District.
